Update: I've also put the tutorial part itself online, if people aren't willing to download it to their computers. Read it here.
You can also see the 'live' version of it HERE (with colours).
Okay guys, CSS is all the rage. I've noticed.
I've done up a template based on my journal. But instead of just saying "here you bunch of CSS n00bs, have a template" (I'm a n00b myself, I think), I decided to write a tutorial or run down of what the CSS is and what it does. In the template, there are two custom divs, so I've also explained what these do and how to apply them to your journal. If you are wondering what I'm talking about, then read it and find out.
In the template, most of it is the same as mine but easy to modify. I've removed the colours though, so people should apply their own.
It's probably not great but I'm thinking it will probably help some people... maybe... I hope
Download the .zip file into a folder on your system to view it. It's a HTML/CSS document with a couple of images, so make sure they're all together in the same folders otherwise things won't display correctly. Also, in the folder you will find csstemplate.txt which is what you will need to use for your journal. But please, if you're unfamiliar with CSS or a beginner, or whatever have you, read the tutorial first.
If you have any issues (something isn't clear, something is actually wrong, or you just can't do something or get your head around something), please leave a comment in THIS DEVIATION ONLY, so it's easier for me to keep track of (please, please, please don't note me or poke me in dAmn).
Also note, journal CSS is for subscribers and seniors.
Awesome, this should explain things allot easier. Where ^thespook has created a visual aid, its good to see an explanation of what each section does what. Good idea, should help heaps of people
where you have: .journalbox .journaltext .jcustom {
for your custom div, it can be shortened to just
div.jcustom
Same thing, as well as using the <div> tags to use it

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
