Been working on this for a few days. Had the idea for a while but never got around to doing it until now. Some journal CSS based on the new Facebook design.

I've created it in Original and Neutral. Original is obviously in the original Facebook colours (that being blue). Neutral is all greyscale.

Important:

Please be sure to read the readme in the "Read Me" folder (open it in a browser). This readme has a lot of information about how to use the CSS (yes, it is geared towards beginners). You could read it online before downloading it if you wish.

For those that are comfortable with both HTML and CSS, you could ignore the readme.

Please host the images yourself!

As I kindly hosted for most people for my Message Centre CSS, I would appreciate it if people did actually host the images themselves this time. None of them should be resized on Photobucket.

All the necessary files are included in the download:

    Original (folder)
    * images (folder)
    * topbar-sidebar.txt
    * content.txt
    * footer.txt
    * css.css
    * css-commented.css

    Neutral (folder)
    * images (folder)
    * topbar-sidebar.txt
    * content.txt
    * footer.txt
    * css.css
    * css-commented.css

    Read Me (folder)


I've included commented CSS so that you can have some rough guidelines. Don't use the commented CSS in the journal as it will not work.

Open .css and .txt files in WordPad to keep the formatting. I don't recommend opening in NotePad. Anything else like Dreamweaver or Aptana is even better.

Testing:

Tested in Firefox 3.0 and Internet Explorer 7.0. Works and should work in most other browsers. Note that the curved corners will only work in Firefox.

Known Issue(s):

None that I am so far aware of.

Wow....just....wow...

This is simply amazing, the best part for me is the mood box :giggle:

You've managed to and recreate the simplicity and functionality of facebook so well with this CSS, the appearence is similar to Facebook, but with a nyssa/deviant twist. This will be devoured by Facebook addicts no doubt :giggle:

What can I say, this CSS is amazing. It's incredible how much it looks like Facebook's design, but in a funny sort of way, it still has that Nyssa look to it.

I really love how you've worked hard on getting most of the journal to look just as it should be without cutting corners simply because it would be less problematic for you. Even down to the basic profile picture you get when you sign up to Facebook you have included. I particularly like the quotes - very nice touch.

As for it being based on Facebook... what a great idea! I mean, it makes having your journal that more personal in a way. I'm personally not Facebook's biggest fan (even if I have an account) and I'm sure there are people that either love FB or hate it. However, I hope people base their comments on the high amount of work you put into this, in all order to share it with us deviants.

Fantastic work once again. You're fast becoming a CSS Goddess! I love it.
